Q: Why should I buy custom replacement windows?

A: Custom windows are designed and manufactured for a perfect fit – every time. They allow less air infiltration and provide a more uniform appearance than stock windows. Force V custom windows are meticulously engineered to have less spacing around the window frame. Our attention to detail results in maximum energy efficiency and sound control. And our windows are as beautiful as they are functional. You can think outside of the box and choose from an array of shapes and sizes to enhance the style of your home.

Q: How are Force V Environmental windows and doors different?
A: The answer is all in the engineering. Force V vinyl windows are unique in that they have a step jamb, which allows for additional contours and weather-stripping channels to be engineered into the window jamb and sash contact points. This allows greater energy efficiency and provides 30% more weather-stripping than most windows.
Where other manufacturers cut corners, we set the standard for craftsmanship and performance.

Q: Do I always have to replace my existing windows with the same style?
A: That’s the best thing about custom-made windows. You can replace your existing windows with a combination of styles, shapes and color combinations. A professional home improvement expert can help you get the look you want. You can choose to retain the same style, or you can decide to dramatically enhance your home’s appearance with Force V’s broad range of unique styles and designs.

Q: Are replacement windows secure?
A:
Absolutely. There are two factors that play a major role in window security: the strength of the reinforced load points and the quality of locking systems. Force V windows have a 5-point security feature built-in. They are fully steel reinforced on all horizontal load bearing sash rails, making them stronger and more durable than traditional windows. Force V also offers an optional PAL lock system that allows your windows to lock automatically once you shut them. Locking, heavy-duty extruded screens also make forced entry more difficult.

Q: My old windows used tape to hold the glass in place. What are the alternatives?
A:
Today there are very few new windows made with two-sided tape or putty. Advancements in technology have provided better ways to secure the glass. By using an automated silicone glazing system (called Auto-Glazers), the glass and sash are securely bonded to provide a better seal and create a stronger one-piece window unit. This also eliminates any spaces where air or water can penetrate around the glass unit and into your home.

Q: What types of Force V doors are available?
A:
You used to have to choose between doors that swing or slide open, but we have added a modern twist with our Tilt'n Turn and Tilt'n Slide doors - in addition to normal operations, these also tilt in at fixed settings to vent the room.

Q: What’s the difference between vinyl, wood and aluminum windows?
A:
For optimum protection and maintenance, vinyl is a superior choice. Vinyl does not conduct heat or cold like aluminum, which is a major source of energy loss. And unlike wood windows, vinyl is less likely to swell and shrink with seasonal temperature changes. Vinyl windows are also completely maintenance free, unlike wood windows.

Q: Is it possible to get the look of wood without the hassle?
A:
Yes! With Force V’s many interior woodgrain finishes, you can enjoy the warm look of wood windows, without the maintenance. Available in Southern Pine, Light Oak, Dark Oak and Warm Cherry, we offer beautiful wood tones to complement your home.
